Contemporary Ait Ouaouzguit Kilim (Hanbel) wool rug in natural very dark brown, featuring an abstract tribal wave-like pattern. Large oblong checks along the edges provide a contemporary twist, giving this Moroccan rug a striking modern tribal aesthetic. Hand knotted to create a finely detailed and highly durable flat weave.
Originating from the Ait Ouaouzguit tribal region in the Siroua mountain range (south-west of Ouarzazate, High Atlas, Southern Morocco), this piece reflects the region’s long-standing Berber weaving heritage. The Siroua sheep, indigenous to the area, provide wool renowned for its long, smooth fleece in pure white or black.
Handwoven using traditional artisan techniques, this contemporary rug is crafted with a simple knotting method, ensuring both durability and exceptional quality designed to last for decades.
